shift 5.19.10

Meh, not a wonderful shift. Not a crappy one either- just a shift. A kinda blah, kinda fun, shift. 

Nobody made too much money, but nobody went home penniless either. Ava and I each scored once dance, and lots of tips. So on the monetary front; boo. But on the fun front; I’m calling this one A-ok by me. 

I made another regular, if I’m not mistaken. Steve, a short, balding, photographer who apparently has done shoots for one of my favorite burlesque models, Dita Von Teese. He swears he’ll bring me one of the photos on Sunday, when he swears he’ll come back in. We’ll see if it actually happens or not. A lot of customers swear to come back and you never see them again. C’est la stripping. Steve does have incredibly nice tattoos though. I’m actually quite jealous of one of them.

Other than Steve, I made all my tips on stage. I was the very last set of the night as Ava and I came in late (11pm) for a short shift. The last four people in the bar made it rain for me, and a gent who couldn’t get singles in time before he had to leave tossed me a $10. Very nice of him.

Other than that, no news is good news. I didn’t run into any real douche bags, (though Ava unfortunately did) and I did not run into any serious physical injury, which is always a plus. No new bruises, yay. 

In other news: I can once again do inversions on the pole. It’s been three years since I stopped dancing at Dean’s, so of course I’ve lost some of the muscle mass I used to have. To avoid falling on my face in front of customers, I bought and installed a pole in my own room, so I could build my muscle back up in private, without fear of embarrassment. If anyone’s interested in doing the same, I bought mine from Lilmynx, and am quite happy with my purchases. They offer stationary and rotating poles, as well as different colors.
